Before the British  Blue herd was established, numerous commercial beef cattle were bought or bred  for primestock showing since 2004.

Calves have been  purchased from suckled calf sales and privately off farm and have great success  at shows throughout the south east of England, culminating in championships at  both our local Christmas Fatstock Shows at Maidstone and Ashford Markets, as  well as the South East Primestock Winter Fair. Summer championships have also  been won at Essex and Kent County Shows.

2009 saw a British  Blue x stood second in the suckled calf class at Chelford before selling her for  £900. We also sold a homebred Limousin cross steer to Rhys Grenham, Sussex,  which went on to win the commercial beef championship at Heathfield Show that  same year and a third prize at the Royal Show.

In 2010, a Burnbank  Arnie x British Blue x steer sold in Chelford for £1600 and 2011 will see  Bedgebury offer two more Blue crosses at Chelford in March.

We have now ceased  with the showing of commercial cattle and now concentrate on breeding suckled  calves for sale privately or at suckled calf sales. We often have calves  available for sale either at auction or privately by Bluegrass Cyclone, Wilodge  Tonka or Burnbank Arnie.
